1.10 Contractor – Mechanical lifts

This subclass authorizes construction work mechanical lifts and conveyors subject to paragraph 7 of article 3.4 of the Regulation respecting the application of the Building Act.    

It also authorizes construction work included in subclasses 3.1, 4.1, 5.1 and 6.1 of Schedule II, when said work relates to a mechanical lift or conveyor governed by this subclass.  

Finally, it authorizes related construction work.

Additional explanations

Mechanical lifts and conveyors subject to paragraph 7 of article 3.4 of the Regulation respecting the application of the Building Act are: mechanical lifts and conveyors covered by CSA standard CAN/CSA Z98 referred to in Section 7.01 of Chapter VII of the Construction Code, approved by decree number 895-2004 of September 22, 2004.

This general contractor is authorized to bid on, carry out or have carried out all construction work on a mechanical lift.  

This subclass authorizes its licence holder to carry out construction work included in the following specialized subclasses, when said work relates to a lift or conveyor covered by this subclass:

  • 3.1 Concrete structures
  • 4.1 Masonry structures
  • 5.1 Metal structures and prefabricated concrete elements
  • 6.1 Wood structures
  • All work included in Schedule III.
