4.2 Contractor – Non-structural masonry, marble and ceramics

This subclass authorizes construction work relating to non-structural masonry, marble, granite, ceramic, terrazzo and other similar materials, refractory products as well as similar or related construction work. 

Additional explanations

This subclass is included, in its entirety, in subclass 4.1. 

This subclass authorizes, without exceeding the regulatory framework, construction work relating to:

  • the installation of mortarless brick siding such as “NovaBrik”, refractory products such as brick, grout, ceramic  
  • cutting, installing, polishing marble, granite, granito, slate, and ceramic as well as terrazzo and other similar products  
  • repairs to chimneys of all types
  • dividing walls (non-structural)
  • the preparation, restoration or finishing of building surfaces or masonry civil engineering works through sandblasting, the use of steam or water pressure or other special processes 
  • masonry finishing work (acid washing).

NO LICENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • cleaning the surfaces of buildings or civil engineering works. However, when building refacing work is carried out prior to painting, masonry or other work, a contractor’s licence is required (4.1, 4.2 or 9)
