11.1 Contractor – Pressurized industrial or institutional piping

This subclass authorizes construction work that is not the exclusive domain of master pipe mechanics and relates to the installation of pressure piping for industrial or institutional purposes as well as similar or related construction work.   

Additional explanations

This subclass authorizes, without exceeding the regulatory framework, construction work relating to:

  • pipes in water treatment and filtration plants, power stations, etc.  
  • compressors and compressed air
  • anchoring.

NOTE: Work relating to sprinklers requires licence subclass 13.3.

NOTE: The definition of industrial piping is provided in the “Definitions” section.  

NO LICENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  • work relating to systems other than the equipment of a building or civil engineering work for public use, except for construction work related to their anchoring, roof or wall piercing, restoration work, the welding of equipment to the building’s structure, the structure’s reinforcement, etc.
